My name is Carmen, and I have been a psychotherapist for the past 29 years, as well as a qualified clinical supervisor in the State of Florida. I consider myself “seasoned” and not old, and my favorite saying is “Trust the Process.” As a Hispanic and bilingual therapist, I conduct sessions in both English and Spanish as needed. I provide culturally sensitive therapy, understanding that everyone comes from different backgrounds with unique values, practices, and beliefs. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and respected, creating an environment where it’s easy to talk about what’s happening in your life.
I specialize in working with individuals, couples (relationship/marital issues), substance abuse, end-of-life issues, and family therapy. I often remind my clients that it might get worse before it gets better, as we need to confront the difficult issues that have been swept under the rug to move forward and gain a new perspective. I use various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. More than anything, I’m an enthusiastic and down-to-earth person who wants to help you feel better. If you’re shy, unsure of what to expect, or hesitant to talk about your issues, don’t worry. We will go slow, and I will explain the process and what to expect, making sure you feel comfortable as we work together to achieve your goals. Trust the process, and I look forward to working with you.
